Angels
There's no reason to rush. Certainly not when there's a victory waiting at game's end, as the Angels have shown on the homestand that concluded Sunday against the Blue Jays. The Angels went 4-2 in the six games in front of their local fans and claimed each victory in their last at-bat. Walk-off indeed. Sunday's cheer-to-the-last-ball-drops moment came courtesy of Maicer Izturis, who delivered a two-out, bases-loaded bloop single into the Bermuda Triangle in shallow right field to hand the Angels a 4-3 victory in nine innings. To add one last touch of improbability to the scene, Izturis' feat was preceded by Howie Kendrick driving in a run without swinging the bat. On the first pitch to him from Blue Jays closer B.J. Ryan, Kendrick was hit on the left elbow to force in a run. It was the first time Ryan has hit a batter since the 2005 season.
